About
I’m Mark, currently Strategy Director at Saint @ RKCR/Y&R. I’ve been lucky enough to work on both digital and integrated strategies for lovely brands over the years, such as Kopparberg, the V&A, adidas, Xbox, Virgin, The BBC, Land Rover, San Miguel and a bunch of others.
Highlights so far have included a truly integrated campaign for Kopparberg; D&AD & NMA Effectiveness nominations for our work for the V&A Decode exhibition; a Campaign Digital award for ‘Respect ME’ Missy Elliot / adidas campaign site, a couple of global vehicle launches for Land Rover (Range Rover Sport and Discovery 3), and a EMEA-wide consumer-generated-media music competition called ‘Xbox Soundtracks’.
I get excited about digital’s ability to bring people together in mutually beneficial connections, and consider my job to be part traditional account planner and part digital-age hippy anthropologist.
Outside of business hours I’m a musician and a DJ. I was a regular on the decks at Turnmills before it sadly shut its doors and have had my own productions played on BBC Radio 1 and overseas with support from the likes Jo Mills, Tim Sheridan, Catz and Anil Chawla as well as Tall Paul, the Flash Brothers and Paul van Dyk. I’ve also had the good fortune to DJ in clubs in Latvia, Romania, France and Ibiza. More on my musical alter ego Mark Sun can be found at myspace.com/marksun
So, this blog will be collection of thoughts on digital marketing and comms, as well as music, photography, gadgetry, design and whatever else in muddying my mind at any point in time - hope you enjoy reading and I hope you won’t be shy in contributing via comments.
